Honest take: Framer is the website builder I reach for when a startup says “we want a site that looks like Linear’s.” The animations are buttery. The templates are gorgeous. The AI page generator can scaffold a decent landing page in 60 seconds. Publishing is instant — no build step, no deploy. For landing pages and marketing sites, Framer is unbeatable in 2026. But it has real limits: the CMS is basic compared to Webflow. E-commerce is nonexistent. Complex multi-page sites get unwieldy. SEO controls are improving but still behind WordPress and Webflow. And at $20/mo for the basic site plan (with custom domain), the free tier is really just a sandbox. I use Framer for landing pages and Webflow for full marketing sites. They complement each other perfectly.
