We help you figure out if you can do it yourself.
Sometimes you need a freelancer. Sometimes you just need a push. We give you the honest breakdown so you can make the right call — no agenda, no BS.
Our mission is simple
For every service we cover, we answer one question: should you hire someone, or can you do this yourself?
We break down the freelancer route — which platforms, what it costs, what to watch out for. And we break down the DIY route — which tools to use, how long it takes, what skills you actually need.
Then we step back and let you choose. We are not pushing you to hire. We are not pushing you to DIY. We are giving you the information, and a little nudge of confidence, so you stop overthinking and start doing.
What we believe
Four principles that guide everything we write and recommend.
Honesty first
If hiring a freelancer is overkill for your case, we will tell you. If DIY is going to eat 40 hours of your life for a mediocre result, we will tell you that too.
Both paths, always
Every guide covers the hire route and the DIY route. Real costs, real timelines, real trade-offs. You get the full picture, not a sales pitch.
Real data
Actual prices from real platforms. Actual timelines from real projects. No vague "it depends" without giving you the context to decide.
No BS
No sponsored rankings. No fake reviews. No "top 10" lists where every option conveniently has an affiliate link. We call it like we see it.
How we make money
Full transparency: some of our links are affiliate links. When you sign up for a platform like Fiverr, Toptal, or a tool we recommend through our link, we earn a commission. It costs you nothing extra.
Here is what that does not mean: it does not mean we rank platforms based on who pays us more. Our recommendations come from research and real-world testing. If a platform is bad, we say so — even if they have an affiliate program.
Affiliate links are always clearly disclosed. You will see them marked throughout the site. We would rather lose a commission than lose your trust.
Built by one person
Memvers is an indie project. No VC funding, no team of 50, no corporate roadmap. Just one person who got tired of seeing the same recycled "best freelancer platforms" lists that clearly existed to collect affiliate clicks, not to actually help anyone decide.
Every guide, every review, every DIY walkthrough — written, researched, and maintained by one human. That means updates take time, but it also means every word has a real opinion behind it, not a committee.
Where we come from
2022 — The marketplace era
Memvers started as a Web3 freelance marketplace. We built the platform, onboarded freelancers, handled disputes, processed payments. We learned the freelance world from the inside — the platforms, the pricing models, the pitfalls, and the things nobody tells you.
2024 — The pivot
The metaverse hype faded, but something valuable stuck: a genuine understanding of how freelancing works. Instead of competing with Fiverr and Upwork, the realization hit — helping people navigate the decision in the first place is more useful than being another marketplace.
2026 — Today
130+ service comparisons, 135 DIY guides, and growing. Think of Memvers as that friend who actually knows the freelance world and gives you a straight answer instead of trying to sell you something.
